162 Interns and 23 Employers Participate in Talent Dubuque: An Intern Engagement Program

It is hard to believe that this summer's Talent Dubuque: An Intern Engagement Program has come and gone! The 2024 program saw record intern and employer engagement with 162 interns registering, representing 23 of the Greater Dubuque region's top employers. Interns took part in a series of six events offering interactive activities, networking opportunities, and community experiences that demonstrated how YOU can be great here in the Greater Dubuque region.

This year's program kicked off with participants learning about the Greater Dubuque region at a welcome luncheon. Interns mingled with the Young Professionals of Dubuque over lunch at the YP's Annual Awards Lunch in June as well as their July lunch featuring speaker Kody Fitzjerrellls with Omni Digital Group. The 2024 Talent Dubuque series also included an evening of exploring the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium followed by live music and local fare at a Taste of Summer event, a night of Dubuque-based trivia and experiencing the Millwork Night Market, and a closing luncheon opened by City of Dubuque Mayor Brad Cavanagh and featuring a panel discussion with former interns that become long-term Dubuque residents. The welcome and closing luncheons also provided opportunities for participants to share input on the communities services and quality of life amenities that are most important to them, while reflecting on how the Greater Dubuque region lived up to their expectations this summer and where improvements can be made.
