Getting Involved

One sure way to make connections in this community is to get involved in an organization outside of your work or home life. Dubuque is very proud of its involved citizens. The most important resource our community has is its people. Volunteers who work, who invest and who care about making a long-term change in the community make it a better place to live, work and play. All are invited to celebrate the spirit of volunteerism. Many national and international civic organizations have chapters in Dubuque that meet weekly and monthly such as Rotary, Kiwanis, Lions, Sertoma, Optimists, Jaycees and others.

Additionally, Greater Dubuque Development, in partnership with Northeast Iowa Community College's Town Clock Center for Professional Development, has created an interactive, hands-on learning experienced called Distinctively DUBUQUE. Distinctively DUBUQUE provides participants valuable knowledge about the community in a fund and relaxing atmosphere. This program is FREE of charge. To learn more, click here.
